Mars in Virgo: Passion For...WORK

Mars will spend a lot of time in Virgo, everybody, so get a grasp of what it's all about before you take this earnest and 

hard-working energy and take it too far.  Mars in Virgo is all about applied and focused effort.  Astrologers say Mars is in its "joy" whilst in Virgo, and to some extent that's true.  However, if you really love Mars for his passion for life and his ability to savor things to the ultimate degree, you'll probably watch what happens in Virgo and feel a little sorry for him.

It's terrific that we have a lot of drive and forcefulness while Mars is in Virgo, but what will be lacking is that raw passion we saw in Mars, especially in Aries and Libra.  Instead of taking huge chunks of life and chewing on them voraciously, we'll be focused on getting the details taken care of with a sense of urgency, but without that passion for life Mars is so famous for.

As I told you in the beginning of this article, Mars will be in Virgo for a long time.  That's because it will move in retrograde motion (effectively backwards) from January 24-April 14, 2012.  It will then move forward through Virgo a second time, moving out of the sign finally in early July.  

If you're a Virgo person, have Virgo rising or know a lot of Virgo people, don't think Mars will "just" make these people work even harder.  They will experience just as much aggravation as any of us do when the fiery, feisty and fierce planet Mars is in our signs!  So - be nice to your Virgo friends and family, or they won't be very nice to you!

All of us will have a long lesson to learn from Mars, and here in a nutshell are the areas of life that will be affected for each of the signs:

ARIES: You will work...really, really hard.  You'll frequently give up your own wishes for the purpose of being of service, so you'll have to learn how to detach from your tendency to identify with your work and being identified as that great person who did all that.  You'll be best off working on your own thing, so you can get at least some credit for what you do.  A surge of energy could lead to accident-proness.  Move slowly and carefully, and discipline yourself to get enough rest.  

TAURUS

You will want to express yourself now, particularly through your social life.  You won't be as self-disciplined as usual, and will be prone to partying much more than usual.  Try your best to organize this energy into something that's fun and good for you at the same time.  Consider joining a sports activity, or pour yourself into having a good time with people you want to date.  If you have kids or deal with them, prepare for them to be feisty.  They'll need your slow and steady hand of leadership more than ever.  

GEMINI

You may find that some of the things that were said and done in your childhood figure more prominently.  You might even start to act the way you did when you were a child, and this could be due to your desire to take charge of that part of your life and change the endings of some of those awkward moments.  In your present life, you won't be easy to live with, either. You will need to at least rearrange furniture, but you may also want to move from one home to another, or even push on to a new location altogether.

CANCER

Your mind will move a mile a minute, and while this can be good, you have to ensure the thoughts you spend most of your time on are positive.  Your elevated energy might encourage you to take on more work, or at least to reach out to make connections with a wide range of people.  You will want to express yourself with force, too, and you'll have to be careful about leaving room for other people's opinions.  Your ideas will be good, but you can't go around imposing them on everybody.

LEO

Money is going to be the name of the game for you, and you'll tend to be more aware of your material position than you have been in the past.  While it's beneficial to put energy into your earning potential, you also must remember there are other things in life that are worth having.  Be careful that you don't spend like a millionaire when you haven't quite done that well yet.  Use your resources wisely, and rely on advice from experienced advisors.

VIRGO

You're going to feel this change more than anyone else, especially when it ennervates your body and makes you far stronger (and more agitated) than usual.  You will advocate for yourself, and press for your ideas to dominate those of others.  What you need to be careful of is pushing others - and yourself - too hard.  Without some moderation, you could head toward health problems and other woes that will prevent you from doing your best.

LIBRA

You of all people don't need any incentive to sit on your hostilities, because you have a tendency to hold back your true feelings and avoid overt expressions of the negative ones.  If you feel upset or irritable and can't figure out why, chances are the answers can be found when you get in tune with your innermost truths.  Work on becoming more conscious of your thoughts and the emotions and experiences that are behind them, and spend as much time as possible being alone and contemplating what you want from life.

SCORPIO

If you think you already know the meaning of "team player," Mars might be teaching you some lessons  you didn't realize you needed so badly.  Group interactions will be a key element in your work now, and although you will wnat to assert yourself and dominate, you'll be forced to work more cooperatively.  If you get frustrated, get involved in a "real" team, as in one that's engaged athletics or card games that call for hard-fought strategic thinking.

SAGITTARIUS

You'll be pushing your way toward success now, so be aware that you're much more self-oriented than you normally are. It's important to know you're being more than a little bit "pushy," because while you're on the way "up" you want to be nice to those you may meet again on the way "down."  When others notice your achievements, they may feel threatened.  Reassure them that you'll need them and want them with you, no matter how far you go in life.

CAPRICORN

This is going to be a fruitful time, when you will get some opportunities to enlarge your mental and intellectual awareness.  Maybe you'll get a new position that pushes you to learn more about your field, or sends you off to far-flung places that expose you to new and exotic cultures.  Make sure you stay on the right side of morals and ethics now, too - or you mayget into the kind of trouble you truly would rather not know about.

AQUARIUS

Sharing and intimacy are extremely important to everyone, but you are not one to jump into any crucible that would meld your interests with those of someone else.  Now, you'll notice your drive to be one with others will be stronger than usual.  You'll feel sexy, and get almost aggressive about expresing yourself that way.  Try to be ethical about your behavior in this area, and try to use this whole experience as a learning device that leads you to feel more comfortable about trusting - and being trustworthy.

PISCES

There will be some tense moments now, whether you welcome them or not.  While you're usually a rather easygoing person, you will find yourself feeling driven to stand up to the significant others in your life.  People may feel as though they can roll right over you, and you will resent this.  Don't run away.  You're being asked to put more work into your one-to-one relationships now, and no matter how difficult that seems, the rewards will be well worth those awkward moments and long silences.
