On Saturday July 23 at 12:12 AM Eastern Time, the sun will move into the boisterous, bold and gregarious sign of Leo.  This sign, ruled by the sun and with a majestic lion as its zodiac image, brings with it all the things we associate with this fierce yet righteous animal.  Fairness, loyalty, tenacity, pride and pure power are just some of the attributes of Leo people, and of this time of year when the sun travels through this sign.

It's the time of year when we want to show off what we've got.  Look at Mother Nature, after all!  Everything is in bloom, bright, beautiful, fragrant, full of flavor!  We all look our best, as well, with our relaxed smiles and possibly even a little sun showing through our darkened skin and lightened hair.  Sometimes, we think it's wrong to be proud of ourselves for what we've done, and that's how the energy of Leo winds up being so misunderstood.  Leo people do seek the spotlight, love to be admired and insist on being noticed and attended to at all times.  Vanity, particularly about the hair, can be amusing at best, but can also become annoying.   Leo people in general, who are endearing, strong and kind, and you have to understand their motivations before you dismiss their strong sense of self and mistake it for shallow narcissism. Leo is the pure energy of The Male Parent, as we discussed in our article about Father's Day. As a role model, Leo puts on a show so that an example can be set for all to see!  That's why Leo is always on the stage, in front of the group at a presentation, or standing up at a cabaret or a rock concert, clapping, dancing, singing or putting on a show in his or her chair.  Karaoke?  Every Leo's dream.  Notice, though, that as Leo seems to be showing off, this courageous person seems to double-dare you, the non-Leo one, to get up there and join right on in.  This is true in other situations besides direct performances.  Leo sees no reason for people to act afraid or shy, even if they happen to be.  Leo believes the show must go on, and will try to show you how to act like you have your act together while you feel like you're falling apart.

This next four weeks, you're likely to see all kinds of things that remind you of Leo's audacity and bravery.  If you can tap into you, you might even feel your own surge of Leo-like energy!  It will be interesting to see Leo shining through in the news, and we'll point it out as it happens.  Meanwhile, get out there and enjoy the peak of the summer, and let your spirit roar with joy under the searing sun!
